Folksy Friday - Horses

Horse racing - a barbaric 'sport' (if you can call it a sport), the injury and death of a horse is acceptable so long as money is made from those happy enough to gamble. (Not my opinion!)

As you have guessed I'm anti-horse racing, anti any sort of animal cruelty. An animal can die for the gain of man and it's seen as ok... it shouldn't be that way, but unfortunately the society we live in allows it. It is simply insane, unfair and inhumane.

My folksy Friday theme of choice is in honor of all the lovely horses who are undeservedly pushed into this 'sport', who have fallen, lost their fight and are ill treated for the gain of 'man'. Beautiful creatures, elegant, kind and very intelligent, they deserve more.

If you don't know the full effects of horse racing, then I direct you to here - be warned, it will open your eyes to the true unseen nature of the act http://www.horsedeathwatch.com/

Apologies for such a 'sad' topic, it is something I feel very strongly about. There is so much hype about the prospect of winning money, but what about this poor creatures we are taking advantage of? that we are risking life and limb for wealth ? How is it fair?

  2. Lovely selection, I particularly like iloveyou's pendant. I can't stand the barbarity of horseracing, it's always made me cry to think about it.
